Flamingo Spring Practice

MONDAY, APRIL 12—TUESDAY, MAY 26

We will again have spring practice at the Penn State Harrisburg Campus pool.  Spring practice indoors, however, requires an extra cost on top of your HST registration, but we feel it is a great benefit to have this time to practice techniques and get back into condition.  For each swimmer, the cost is listed below and is payable at registration or by April 2^nd. Payments are non-refundable and must be made in full. 

Practice times and prices are as follows:

Mon., Wed., Fri.   6:30 – 7:15 PM  -- Novice Swimmers. . . . . . . . . . . .  Cost:  $50.00 Mon., Wed., Fri.   7:15 – 8:30 PM -- Advanced Swimmers. . . . . . . . . . . Cost:  $50.00 Sunday  4:00 – 5:00 PM – New and Novice 8 & Under swimmers. . . . . . Cost:  $25.00                                (Sunday dates: April 18, 25 and May 2, 9, 16)

 

PSU-Harrisburg has instituted an identification/security system to monitor those entering the building.  Each swimmer will be required to have an ID swipe card in order to practice at the PSU-Harrisburg pool.  If you have participated on a winter swim team that practiced at PSU-Harrisburg or participated last spring, then the swipe card already issued can be reactivated for $2.00 per card.  If your swimmer(s) does not have an ID swipe card, the cost for a new card is $5.00 per card. 

Also, PSU-Harrisburg requires a payment of $1 to park in the lot near the pool building or a parking pass can be purchased at the parking office in the Susquehanna Building.  Our HST policy of parents not being on deck during practice also applies to spring practice. There is not a seating area in the pool facility. Parents should drop the swimmers off at the door to the pool and then return to pick them up.

The PSU-Harrisburg facility does have locker rooms available for our use.  However, the swimmers must conduct themselves appropriately and remember that others will be using the lockers at the same times.  Locks may be used on the lockers during the time the swimmer is at practice.  Locks must be removed after each practice.

 

             The pool at PSU-Harrisburg is located in the CUB (Capital Union Building) which is the first building on your right after you enter the campus from Rt. 230 (Main St. in Middletown).
